The fifth qualifier for the Angling Trust RiverFest 2015 took place on the River Tyne at Corbridge to Wylam on Sunday 19th July.

It was a tough match for the 53 competitors due to heavily coloured water and high wind.

The winner was Bag’em Matchbaits angler Steve Whitfeid with 14-12 of dace caught on the long whip and maggot, four pegs below Wylam old railway bridge.

Runner-up was Martin Highe, Mirfield, with 14-3 of dace and chublets caught on the stick and maggot from Prudhoe.

In third place was local Newcastle angler Tim Richardson with 11-9 of dace from the peg next to the runner-up.

The three qualifiers who will go through to the Grand Final in November are:

Steve Whitfield, Bag ’em Matchbaits Cameron Hughes, Starlets
and Ed Warren, Preston Innovations
