BLUEBELL Lake’s famous big common carp has been banked at a new venue record of 60lb, Total-Fishing can reveal.

Britain’s biggest common carp, known as Benson, fell to the rod of St Neots, Cambs angler Andy Childs, who smashed his personal best by a massive 42lb in the process.

The Kingfisher Lake fish took a single Dynamite Baits The Source 15mm boilie and came in a week when the Tansor, Northants venue also produced three 30lb carp and a 42lb fish as well.

It’s the biggest weight Benson has ever been caught at. Its previous biggest weight was 59lb 2oz in June 2002 and it was last caught in November 2002 when it weighed 57lb.
