THE Talon is a revolutionary new type of reel clamp (patent pending). It comes in two sizes that between them will fit any rod with a butt between 20 and 33 mm in diameter.

It can be used with either fixed spool or multiplier reels and can be positioned with the screw fitting to the left or right. It also comes with a removable “trigger” for optimum comfort when casting.

Used by a number of top anglers, the Talon reel clamp fits most rods and
can be used with multipliers or fixed spool reels.

The Talon can be positioned anywhere on the butt section of the rod (tapered or straight) and once this is achieved, with just a few turns of the screw, your reel will be locked tight to your rod for the duration of your trip.

The Talon is now being used by a number of top anglers in the UK, is on an ever inceasing list of rods, including the “Annubis” from conoflex and other rods to be announced shortly. We will also be exporting to Europe and the United States in the near future.

Made solely in the UK, the Talon is manufactured from only the highest quality materials – watch out for the new custom coating – due to be out end of Feb 2006 – and new trigger attachment – due end of Mar 2006.

Slip the Talon onto the rod….

Position it on the butt as shown…

The Talon was devised because of the lack of a good reel clamp that actually did the job it was designed to do!

Coaster style clamps are bulky, prone to snap and lock up and you need a few sizes to cover all diameters of rod butts.

Push the reel’s feet under the Talon’s loops…

… and place the reel in the optimum
position on the butt.

Sliding tube fittings are made of plastic (strength issue), have a very limited diameter range of rods they will fit and are still prone to slipping even when fully tightened down and are even worse when used on a tapered butt, as many rods are today !

Also, with both of the above fittings, you have to remove the butt cap to put them on the rod, unlike the Talon, which can be fully unscrewed and wrapped around the butt before reconnecting the two halves, without the need to take off the butt cap.

Tighten nut, finger tight until the reel doesn’t
move in any direction.

Place thumb on spool and index finger on trigger for optimum comfort when casting.

“I’ve been using one for the past ten months and I’m seriously considering switching to one on my second rod. They’re very easy to use and quick to set up, and the grip that you wrap your finger around is spot on - far better than uncomfortable coasters!”
