Total Sea Fishing Folkestone trip:

Zonnkers reports

We picked the right day to fish off of Folkestone, as can be seen from the photos.

The crew were in order (left to right photo left) zonnkers, crab, squiddly, breakwater, Jan ,Phil and phish and the boat was Pathfinder skippered by Eric Hartley,

We didn’t  go plaice fishing as planned because the plaice were not on the bank yet, so we drifted a couple of wrecks on the way out.

Once on the Varne Bank, we caught the sandeels to use as bait for the sass, as well as about 30 Weavers.

The bass fishing was superb. We drifted a number of wrecks catching bass on most of them. All the small ones were returned, although Eric the skipper reckons that when you return a bass it puts the others off the feed, so that was why we had to keep moving to different wrecks.

All in all a good day was had by everyone and we are sorting out another trip for August. Anyone interested should email me at  zonnkers@tiscali.co.uk.

Jan took the kitty for the biggest fish with a fine 8lb bass, pictured above left.
