RESULTS FOR OPEN CONTESTS WEEK ENDING 1st MAY 2011

All pools have been fishing well with all baits going.  Chopped worm & caster, paste, meat over corn & pellet and white maggot have all caught well.

Top Pool
The bowl area has been fishing really well with pellet and corn to the islands accounting for 4 large bags of fish with f1’s up to 2lb.

Bottom Pool
Chopped worm and caster to the islands has been producing car up to 5lb.  Pellet down the track and up in the water has accounted for mirrors and f1’s up to 2lb.  Bigger fish up to 15lb have been falling to paste down the margins.
 
House Pool
Ledgers with corn or meat to the island have been catching big mirrors and commons up to 15lb   Pellet and maggot have also been catching large bags of f1’s and skimmers. Large perch up to 2lb have been caught on chopped worm with paste producing down the margins for mainly f1’s with mirrors and commons up to 10lb.
 
Extension pool
Quivered banded pellet up to the island has been working well, with f1’s and commons up to 4lb and mirrors up to 8lb.  Pellet at 6m has been producing good bags of f1’s and skimmers.  Meat or corn over hemp down the edges has also been producing big bags of f1’s.  Small 2mm square pieces of meat have been working the best.
 
New Pool
Big bags of f1’s have been falling to chopped worm and caster against the island.  Pellet, corn and meat have also been producing.  Paste down the edges has accounted for 4 big weights this week and f1’s up to 4lb with mirrors and ghosties.  Mirrors have been up to 10lb.

Canal Pool
White maggot up in the water at 7m has been working well for f1’s and common carp.  Maggot on the deck at 7m has been producing large bags of silverfish and tench up to 1.1lb.  Carp in the margins on paste (green betaine), meat and corn fished over hemp.

Club Pool
Meat to the island on pole has been catching big bags of mirrors up to 12lb.  Feed riddled meat dust in a green betaine groundbait with 2mm cubes of meat over the top.  Plenty of f1’s showing to pellet and maggot down the track.  Bream up to 2.5lb , tench up to 3lb and roach up to 1lb are also showing.  Corn or paste down the edges, fished over micro pellet or hemp, have also been catching large mixed bags of fish.
 
Jenny’s Pool
Method to the island on maggot is catching plenty of f1’s up to 2lb with mirrors and commons up to 6lb.  Meat or corn over hemp down the inner edges has been producing big bags of f1 cap with barbel up to 2lb.  Paste is starting to go close in with anglers using a meat based paste.
