I for one as a neutral cant fault city’s support,i remember when they were in the 3rd division, late 90s & still averaged 30,000+,Leeds averaged around 25,000 likewise my club Forest again in the 3rd div, mind you we seem destined to go back & we wont average that this time  .City fans deserve their new found success, its always easy to support a winning side, alot of City fans will have witnessed the bad times,im personally chuffed for those fans who now seem on the verge of seeing some great times ahead.I remember that woman who used to ring that bloody bell, drove me mad at maine rd & at the city ground when City visited come to that,is she still going strong?.

Cheers John, just got a tax rebate out the blue for £278 from 2006!! 😮 ,so ive added skysports1 to my virgin package for just 1 month,£14 which is probably lower than pay to view.I have just put a tenner on Froch at 11/4 with betfred(best odds),bizzare last night to see the Forest lads walking down some street in Atlantic city singing thier heads off lol, should be a great fight but i fear he will have to KO him, cant see him getting a points decision over there lol.

PS…wooohooo just realised the darts are on skysports1,the mrs is well impressed 😀 😀 😀 😀

To a point yes,but you cant tell me Steve Ringer has drawn well every match for the past god knows how many years, the old saying is you cant catch fish of a bad peg but you can ***k up a good peg.As for handicapping, blindfold him,it might just slow him down lol.

I fish the 5k winner take all series at dragon watermeadows fishery on the east coast/ingoldmells,next year it has been changed from 30 straight qualifiers into the final. The new 5+5k format starting March 5/6th 2012 consists of …4 sec winners from each round1 match to qualify for the semi final stage of the competition. There will be 6 semi-finals with 5 section winners going through to the final where 30 anglers will fish for £5,000 first place & 5 section winners of a £1,000.This series is extremely popular with 20+waiting list on most qualifyers, hence the new format which will allow more anglers to compete,in fact most of the qualifiers are already over subscribed & have been since late september, however as 4 anglers qualify from each semi qualifier there will always be places become available, you can qualify for all 6 semi finals if you wish & are lucky enough to do so.

As redarmy says we have postponed the matches until the new year, the water has gone gin clear, there will no doubt be some big pleasure catches but the fish are by no means spread out, there is so much water which is unreachable the bream could be anywhere,it also desperately needs rain to bring the trent up & with it the colour when this happens it will or should fish.

Just seen this in nottm evening post from gary birtles column… 😀

“IN training one day at Forest, Brian Clough announced we were having a practice match.

“It’ll be whites against blacks,” said the gaffer, before a lone voice piped up, from Viv Anderson.

.”But I’m the only black lad here, gaffer,” he said.

“Well, it is going to be a long afternoon for you then,” was the instant reply, which had all of us in pieces.

Personally i cant fault AT on the CC comp, just take the regional correspondants,it cant be easy with all those results coming in every sat/sun evening, especially when you have to give the top 8 anglers, which county, which sponsor/team,weight,& tactics used by the top 2/3,i know because i phone all results in for the watermeadows fishery on the east coast.I aint got a problem with 2 results counting at w/ends myself, thats just how it is,my only slight gripe is “false” numbers fishing to gain extra points, but there is no way AT can police that & in no way can they be to blame,I do find it slightly strange that you criticise the CC trueblue yet it appears from your post above you do not enter it,look at the results or even buy the AT.If AT pulled out of the CC that would be another nail in the coffin of match fishing, granted they now get more results sent in as fisheries/anglers want the points, but apart from that i cant really see what significant benefit AT get from the CC,after all it’s free to enter!.

Does anybody know where I may be able to get line clips repaired on my cu,s? Cant believe Daiwa will not repair them.

Mark,i got this off another forum, posted by someone called “gilbo” im sure he used to post on here, anyway here it is……………..

“. Take a plastic coated paper clip and cut it down. Bed it to form a clip shape and bend the end over 90 degrees. Remove what is left of the line clip and replace with the section of paperclip. For the bit that goes inside the spool make a slight twist and glue in place with epoxy. The plastic coating means it is rust free and very gentle on the line in the clip. They are supper strong and peform really well. I find them easier to clip the line into than those plastic ones fitted to the reels. You can give the cast a good thump or pull out off a snag without worrying about the clip breaking off.

Just thought would pass this on as a handy tip that saves a good few quid. For the carp angler who is fixed with colours then paperclips come in all different colours. Prefer red on mine! “

The 507s on ebay fetch anything from around £30 to £70 depending on condition,if?? you have the original box with spanner/lube etc you are looking at crazy prices, easily over £100,the spools are on there now with a buy it now of £16,personally i would sell two of the spools seperately. As for the alcocks aerial, most of the match aerials are fetching around £100 on ebay again obviously dependant on condition, some othere aerials are fetching over £100 & getting close to £175-200,have a look on ebay mate & look on completed listings.

In no way could you call me a fan of Cameron, but he sort of has a point,he did say or strongly hinted that he wanted the FA to stand upto FIFA,this is what we should do,if they chuck us out…so what.It is about time a breakaway group was formed in the short run it will be hard times but world football will gain in the long run.
