Ash contains carp to 19lb with the average 8lb, there are know chub and F1 showing. The way the weather is at the moment the fishing is quite hard, pellet/paste in the margin which can be up to 4ft deep and over to the island which slopes steeply. Bread/dog biscuit is a good method for weights to 130lb but with the weather is a bit hit and miss at the moment.The form pegs at the moment are 1(fish corner and island), 4(margins and island), 9 (island), 12 (margin and island).

No problem mate and one last thing never give in, 3 fish in the last 1/2 hour can put over 30lb in the net.

Hi terryblaze, the good news hawthorne is fishing better than the other lakes, i fished the open last wednesday i was on hawthorne peg 29 came 2nd with 41lb fishing pellet to the left hand point of the island in 1ft of water, then down the margins. First came of peg 11 60lb ish. Fished the match today on peg 5 had 37lb for 6th fished meat to the island and down margin. peg 7 won with 61lb fishing single maggot down the edge on a 18 then last hour bread on top. Peg 16 was 2nd with 51lb mainly bread in last hour. Ash through ip 41lb peg 12, 38lb peg 4 and 37-12.

On hawthorne the best pegs are 3 over to airiator and margin, peg11 in corner and island, peg 13 to the right (don’t fish in corner) at 13 mtrs plus and point of island. peg 16 margin, left and right on island. peg 23 right hand margin. peg 27,28,29 margin, island.

Bait is a pesonnal thing but i would feed expanda pellet and fish it on the hook. Meat,magott,caster all work. Bread works in the match if its solid from the off if there arn’t so many fish later on in the match don’t leave the bread at home.

The gm i’m not sure today but on saturday peg 1 won the match with 55lb on caster with a few on bread, peg 4 was second with 51lb on pellet all from the margins left and right. Basicly most baits work but feed little and often and guage how much they want this is not a venue were you load the bait in and catch to much feed in the first 10 minutes can wreck your match.

Hi lads fished the open today only had chestnut and hawthorne. Hawthorne fished ok i didn’t stay for the weigh in has i was on chestnut and it was hard. I did see pegs 28 and 29 catching carp to 10lb so the winner should come from those two, peg 1 and 3 had a few down the edge.

The GM ash had a club on it today and the way they pegged it i doubt wether any one caught a great deal. For your match if you follow the open pegging you won’t go far wrong, they normally have pegs1,4,5,7,9,12,14,15,17,18,22 and 24. If you have more anglers you will have to put the other pegs in if less i would take them out in this order peg 15, 22. Have a good day it will be hard but those that feed wisely will get a good weight.
