hi there all ,have a G995 for about 2yrs now, had a new 6 & 7section last year as 5,6 and7 fell off roller onto gravel didnt break but caused few small dings, anyway. the replacement no7 went last week at woodlands THIRSK and went for no good reason( was just shipping out. now hear stories of several 5,6 7 sections going on G995.
thinkin of changing pole but what to go for; new G10 they say its stronger, but they said same about 995 2yrs ago over superlegion.????
or do i go for tournie, heard of few breakages on them too but generally more reliable.
        WOT YOU GUYS THINK????????

The pro has had sections go but there are loads on the bank and compared to other poles is prob the best out there breakage wise.

Take a look at the new Sensas 664 powermatch..probably not a pole that comes to mind straight away but i have just purchased one after several months of trying to decide which pole to buy..it really is an impressive pole and it is cheaper than the g10,pro etc.

We have just been over all of this on the thread below .. read it rather than going over same …..I have a G995, thought it was brilliant……now I have a G10 as well, Garbolino have ironed out the things they missed with the G995 and for me the bonus was all my kits fit the G10 as do all of the sections come to think of it…… Why did I get a G10? I’m a tackle ponce!!! but I have to say it is an improvement on the G995 not by a lot because there was not much to improve on, certainly stiffer, certainly stronger…… not slagging any other pole cos all the flagships are good but that is my opinion on my experience.

mart4666..i posted a thread on the coarse discussion page last week titled “Sensas PowerMatch 664”.

The pole is very, very good at 16 metres and i simply would not have bought the pole if it wasn’t because a large majority of my fishing is done at 16 metres + so i need a tool that is very capable and very up to the job.
Take a look at the thread and it will give you all the info you need. The only thing missing from it is the price of spares.
However, the spare top kits are very reasonable..they come in three guises..competition,match and big fish top kits.
The competition kits are the lightest.
Match and big fish are more or less exactly the same as each other with just the slightest bit more strengthening rap on the female ends of the big fish kits.
The match and big fish top 3’s retail for between £40 + £50..the competition kits are slightly dearer.

My advice would be to take a serious look at the 664,you might be pleasantly surprised.
