          Firstly do not go !!!
Secondly if you have to go then they are mainly catching on paste over a lot of hemp @ 6mts and 14mts.

ps: Don’t forget the “please let me get a bite” prayer mat.
You need a lot of patience for that venue, there’s nowt in it.

Matchcarp, sorry mate but that is uncalled for.

You are not guaranteed a ton and have to work at it a bit as well as put your home work in, but isnt that what match fishing should be about?

ziggi, look at the results on the Hallcroft link at the side of this page, that will give you an idea on what is hapenning.

I am certainly no expert at Hallcroft, but I won my section at the weekend fishing softened pellets with corn.

Incidentally I am sure the top three anglers didnt use Paste either, neither did the guy who won the Club match that was also on the Moat last sunday.

it’s full of fish, ask at the shop before you draw, or give them a call, if you ask, they usually help a bit, but saying that it’s pellets, paste, meat, possibly up in the water. Hope this helps.

To be fair to Matchcarp , paste has been doing the buiness but it didn’t work last weekend for some unknown reason ,but it is an out and out winning method at Hallcroft if you catch on it you could win but if that’s all you take you could blow out .
It is usually fished at 13m or on the bottem of the nearside slope.
Pellet is also good bet as there is alot of skimmers to be caught ,don’t feed it heavy 1/4 of a cup and then feed to your bites .Bites can also be got on a ground bait feeder cast halfway with maggot but they seem to back off pretty quickly,so it is a matter of taking a few then rest it for awhile etc.
It is a strange place my mate fishes it very regular and last week even he never had a bite ,just hope you draw on a few fish .
