Worth checking at the tackle lodge to see if anythings changed when you get there.

Good luck – we’ve got another 5 weeks to wait yet!!!!

8mm course pellets or paste is about all you’ll need.
I took about 15kilos of pellets for my week last month, didn’t bring much back!

You can take your own pellets, the only rule is that they must be carp pellet and you can only use 4pts per match maximum. You cannot use catmeat.
The lakes are fishing well on a variety of methods after a quiet spell after all the rains we had in late July.
I have just returned and Acorn was the pick of the lakes margin fishing meat. Polly was fishing well on pellet on bomb and paste. The wag was not so good and Twin Oaks slow. Sycamore was consistent mainly on the pole around 15 peg and Jennys also good for a weight on paste/pellet. Trelawny seemed to be responding to popped up bread as well as corn fished short and pellet on the bomb.Python was also fishing well but the fish mainly small F1s ditto the canal.
Nelsons did not throw up any big weights whilst I was there but this is a lovely lake, probably my favoutite.EErie still throws up fish to floaters so is a lake I avoid but is the place to head for if its windy as it is very sheltered.
Pay your money and take your choice but I would say dont stay blinkered on pellet and paste many other baits do work down there.

I was there week before last. my best pleasure sessions were in the evening, on Python cathing in the margins (carp to 4/5lb)

I did notice that almost everyone is obsessed with fishing pellet waggler???

I fished the silver match on the Wednesday and almost every angler fished pellet wag even though it was blowing a gale??
I was on Twin Oaks 25 and fished soft pellet on the pole…
                      I was 2nd overall with 46-12
next best weight was 20 odd pound.

Eery is the one, had 20 to about 13/14lb back in June.If only I’d done it on the Rover I’d have been happy.

Certainly was, and Friday and Saturday, coming home tomorrow run out of work. 4k where you get that figure from your about a grand out of the whole years costs.

I thought it was around 4k with insurance, utilities, etc. How long are you allowed to keep a van there? Is it 10 years?

When I enquired cb I thought annual costs of around 3k were about what it costs. Plus the van will depreciate at least 3k pa, add interest if you borrow and it looks expensive unless you can spend 3 months at least down there. I dont think you can rely too heavily on rental income unless you do not want to use your van June July August time to offset any costs.
Nice site though and super fishing and people.

Similar costings to be JohnH. I wouldn’t need to borrow, and I had it as 7K a year, depreciating the van over 10years. I can take four weeks down there, drink like a fish, and have 4 or 5 grand left over, tell me why on earth I would want to own the asset !!

Back in dismal midlands now, 12 years on a new van folk in hail.
Roll on Friday back down there for 2 and a bit weeks.

Are the vans 9 month use, or 12? I guess i9f they are 9 month, they let you shut down in Nov, then come back for the two weeks over xmas, before shutting them down again until Mid March.
