Well done Nick, I heard half the field blanked the first day and sections were won with 5lb (1 fish) because everyone was crammed onto one lake, I hope it fished better today otherwise there will be a lot of people never going back there again, There were a lot of people at Hartleylands today who should of been there for the 2nd day but after yesterday gave it a miss, so I assume that the pegging was a bit easier than yesterday.

I think day one was a combination of tight pegging and a cold north east wind killed it on day one! I won the section with 8lb 11.5oz of mostly rudd and 2 small carp caught on maggot shallow. I think about 17lb won the day! There were about 5 blanks I think two were either side of me!!

There were 10 no shows today I think and about 30 fished, pegging was still tight but the conditions were better and it fished OK everybody catching a few. I had 29lb something for the section win, and Vince Webb won the lake with 60 something.

Having read your blog it shows that by being prepared to do something different, like fishing maggot for rudd on day 1 and then setting up a bomb rod on day 2 were inspired decisons that ultimately won you the title.

While you were at Stones I was Monks on lake 4 with Peter, Dave the fish, Gibbinsbill and Dave Webster having an impromptu MD’s day out.

just a thought, if you have it in october the winter lge starts and alot of anglers will be committed most weekends.
