        Hi All,

Any tips on catching open water mullet? I see quite a few over rocks as I drift in a kayak catching small pollack. I just don’t know what to do to tempt a mullet… any tips welcome 🙂

Well I am hoping someone has been doing the educating for me 🙂 Being 250 miles away from your quary doesn’t help with a daily feeding! I’ve read about using gold head damsal lures on the fly line.

I like the idea of the mackerel flakes, do you fish this below a light float with no weight between hook and float? I assume at about 2-3ft with the fish in the top 3ft of water? Size 10-12 fresh water sized hook, say a 4lb hook length?

If using bread do you still fish this high or deaper as the free offerings will send the fish down? If the bed is clean sand would you ledger the bread flake?

So many questions 🙂 I think educating the mullet is easier than educating me 🙂

‘Mackeral Flakes’ why not use dehydrated Bonito flakes much the same only no mess as dry, you can make a nice Miso soup with the leftovers..

Nooooooooooo Bonito….. Bit like eating flounders eh?

I can make an exception for Skipjack tuna! 😉
