Hello all,
Just got back from an evening at Browndown….
Second cast and I had what I thought was a bit of a slack-liner……started to wind in then began to think I was hauling in a big chunk of weed…..only to be delighted to find a spotted ray!! Now I really wish I had taken my scales and camera with me as I’ve just read that a specimen is around 5lb….I estimated it tonight at 6-7lb.
Also targeted sole with size 4’s…..landed a codling around 2 1/2lb, 1 bream and a pout.
All in all an excellent session.
I must also mention that tonight I had the chance to use my latest purchase…a DVice…I’ve gotta say that when I set it up I thought it would never work, but in all honesty it is fantastic!! I can cast it as far as a plain lead (hence the Ray) and the bait presentation is superb. My first cast was a complete mis-cast and it went plummeting into the sea. I fully expected to retrieve and see just a tiny amount of bait left on the hook, if any. Actually, what I found was my bait was perfect!! Even the tail of the ragworm was intact. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.
Hope everyone else had a good evening,
Steve.
