Can anyone recommend a decent size 16 hook for corn? I have been using Preston hooks but have lately found them snapping on the bend when playing a decent fish. I am after a strong but balanced modle? any ideas please!

pr28 the 1s in a silver packet mate or a turbertini 808 saint hooks usally dont snap the only time they snap is when you hook a fish around the face as only the point penatrates and not the whole hook

The colmic 501 pattern is very good for corn.

Depends on the size of the fish. 808 for smaller fish or winter fishing and Colmic WN501 or Kammy B911 for larger fish/heavier lines.

Makes you wonder about hook manufactures and how many companies actually produce hooks because I’ve been having a similiar problem on my local carp lake – Colton in Norfolk Im using Kamasan B511’s in a 16 and have been straightened more times than I care to remember..

that’ll be because a b511 is a fine wire silver fish hook used in smaller sizes for punch and hemp fishing.the best pattern i’ve found for corn is a b911 or any bait really perfect shape/wire and strength for general carp fishing
