I would stick to a set of Avon Dials: No dodgy readings as the spring is doing all the work!

I did once have to revert back to using dials from digital at a Clubman match when an obvious 2lb of fish weighed 6lb on three or four ‘readings.’

When the dials were used it was nearer the guesstimate.

                £25-30 from most tackle shops.

Reuben Heaton also do a similar and could be worth ‘googling.’

bosfish or fostersofbirmingham for a look at the scales.

Get a set of digital scales they are easier to read and with hold facilities and easy zero. Always carry a spare battery.

Dial scales are fine but a cheap set will not be as trustworthy as the more expensive ones…it’s horses for courses.

I use Salter Samson Digitals and have never had a duff reading…mind I look after mine.
