        Koofed!

This will teach me not to fish 12lb mono on the sabiki snood! Mainline, 150M of 35lb braided line. I picked a new reel for testing and it had 9BB and all the specifications you get lured into when buying! Total crap!

So Stella stayed at home to catch up with the fishing beginning as from Thursday (Thurs, Fri…bank holiday). 4 days of fishing including the weekend, may be I’ll need a rest on Saturday!

Back to it, I was fishing a set of sabiki, size 8 hook and surprise, surprise, Hooked a bruddy COBIA! The basturd took the set of sabiki and I had No chance of stopping it, the fish was as long as my 6ft tica. Inital drag set at 1kg, which about 25m of line was striped on my reel before the snood went off. First time ever I hooked a cobia. I was lucky, why would a fish of this size take such a small sabiki???

H.A, anything in your book about these fish? What bait and how they feed?

There is a big chance the fish will still be here as it is trapped in the lagoon, I don’t how it landed here but I need a second chance.

Treat ’em like Bass and you won’t go far wrong.

Thanks for the Info and tips lads.

I think the fish will be around until it get caught/speared. Not a single ballyhoo and the fish was moving around in the lagoon. Buggered the fishing!

I was re-loading all my jigging and light popping gear. Done about an hour ago, tough job winding braid on my reels.

200m PE3, 250M PE5, 300M PE8 and 300M of 16lb braided. I need to do the leaders tomorrow and during the week I need to tie the assist hooks on my jigs.

2 Tuna trips in a fortnight, and one trip near the reef when I’ve checked the tide! I’m gonna get wrecked but we got 3 bank holidays (1st,2nd and the 9th) and we get them on the day not on the Monday! That means, I get to work 3 days this comming week and off fishing for 2 days, rest on Saturday to get my shopping done (I need some more braid for the spare spool) LOLOLOL. Catch up with some small fish on the Sunday.

I’ve a challenge this season, I want a sailfish on light gear.

BTW, the weather is a bit too hot here! 😉

I’d like to be a chef or a taxidermist? I heard they do stuff birds on many ocassions?
