  Went to Abbotsburry on Friday night – a 200 miles round trip, and spent a fortune on ragworm. All I caught was a whiting and a pouting.
  
  I’ve come to the conclusion that there are no fish left in the sea.
  
  I’ve had enough, so I’ve put all my rods and reels up for sale on Ebay.
  
  I’ve kept my boat rods, but depending on how that goes, I might sell them too!

  listen,im pretty new on this site, but know a thing or or two about fishing. I URGE YOU NOT TO DO IT!! Many peoople have problems like you in this senareo, you may spend tons of money on baitand so on, but every one has a bad trip once in a while. that’s what fishing is about, some trips will be good, some bad, but thats why we all go, for the love of this fantastic sport!! i went on friday, and i was terrible!i caught a small whiting, got caught up 3 times, and the bait wasn’t that good. i stuck it out, ill still go, one bad trip doesnt mean they all will be bad, so ppppllllllleeeeeaaaassssseeee that the stuff of e-bay,and next time always plan to the last detail!!!

  Try being a blinkin Moderator,trust me,you’ll be gagging to get out on the beach to get away from the site !!!!!!!!!!!Blanking isn’t too bad….done it plenty of times,but the days when it all comes together,makes up for it……

  dont sell your gear mate
  the amount of fish in the sea has dropped for a number of years now for a number of reasons ( trawler,s ect ect ) and ive not been fishing for three years but still pop into here from time to time ( two reasons for not fishing for so long , one is time I DON,T HAVE ANY , and the other reason is the fact that i got fed up with not catching anything worth talking about ) ,, now even so ive not been fishing for three years ive still got all my gear in the shed , the point im trying to make is don,t sell up you never know when you may want to take it up again

  If you sell up you will have no excuse to disappear for hours without having to account in detail where you bin.

  thanks for all the words of encouragement. To be honest I don’t go very often, but the last time I had a good session from the beach was probably 15 years ago! I’ve always had a lot more luck on the boats, mind you even that can be hard going at times!
