A few months ago there was lots being written about the new supper wonder bait on here! At the time I thought it wasn’t worth trying as almost anything would catch fish at the time. So I thought what better test than to try them when I’m fishing the mersey this winter. The running tide would disperse those oils quickly and the fish would find my bait from miles away 🙂

So liverpool side, small tides I fished 2hr up 1 down. Rods set up with bluey’s, black lug, squid, macky and the 5th rod with black lug/squid (local fav). Each rig was a sinle 1/0 hook, 5oz lead at approx 80m out on a featureless stretch. The results were disappointing as I had such faith pre fishing:-
        Lug – 4 fish
        squid – 6 fish
macky – 6 fish (inc the 3 largest)
        bluey – 3 fish
        lug/squid – 3 fish

I also noted that the squid rod definitely received more attention from the fish as this rod was tapping away within minutes of hitting the water nearly every cast!

Just thought I’d share this “hectic” days rebaiting and fishing with you all 🙂
