one run, and reel messed up??

  Managed to get a few hours in sunday the 8 th , march in, at my local club water.
  Weather was pants one minute, and wndy and cack , then bright sun the next.
  Try,d my hardest for a fish, tryed different baits, combonations, rigs and managed to have one run on home made boilie, the alarm sreatched off, i struck and the bloody reel messed up big time, locked up and one hell of a tangle, that was the only run of the session, to say im a little peeved, is a under statement, as i,v not fished for a few weeks due to hamstring being pulled and walking being limited..

  if itn was a baitrunner you were using was the baitrunner set too slack letting the spool race away~think

  Yes andy,for some reason the clutch was set to slack aswel i dont no why, but the reel is nackered, iv had to bit,s since being home and car,nt find whats wrong with it.
  Because it was a cheapie, im going to spend more and get something more decent and replace the old reel.
  Never mind, live and learn as the saying goes, a costly mistake all the same.
