We are moving on with this series of junior matches, it has taken a lot of time and effort from anglers and non anglers,.
Since the series was promoted on here, I have been recorded on Martin James, Radio Lancashire, soon to be broadcast. I will let you know when.
I am slightly disappointed by the response from this forum as to what we are trying to do. ( TrueBlue “SG” was the only one to reply ) thank you Stevie Gerrard. 😉 We will be in touch soon.
I do however feel that this forum has a “Southern based” feel to it. and very clicky in that respect.
If this was a “charity match” it would get lots of support, but as it is a junior series of matches over 5 weeks, it does not attract the interest of most of the forum members?
Where is Carpmagic ( Ringer ) where are the other so called BIG names to help with this?
We are getting 50 juniors each week to fish this series!! Help us get prizes and sponsorship? huh??

I know what you mean about the ‘southern base feel to it’.

When i use to run matches as people where screaming for them, only a handfull would turn up.

Have you tried local tackle shops…Bolton Angling Centre on St Helens Road, Owned by Steve Taylor. He does a lot for the young kids with sorting them out for good tackle that they can afford. I very helpful guy.

Elton Tackle in Radcliffe, owned by Barry Gregory. Has youngsters always calling in.

Fishing Republic in Swinton. These may help you with the sponsor of the series and other stuff. But you would be better ringing the Barnsley shop and speak to Kirsty.

Keep up the good work your doing.

            Darren

Beastmaster, having a go at people is not the best way to get help. It might help if you put a link up to your original thread, for those of us that missed it.

The “big names”,as you put it,might already have commitments, have you stopped to think about that ?……..

And there aren’t as many big names as you might think there is,due to various reasons….example, they might not use internet forums,or they are just sick to the back teeth of being tore to bits everytime they post….

Whatever reason,it pays to have a bit of patience, and possibly asking for your post to be stuck for a while,to draw attention to it…

And you will also see that just lately, all the charity matches are getting a bit worn, which is why there is talk of just the one big match, and a different charity each year being the cause for fundraising……

And you’ll find that the “Suvvern clickiness”,is just because they are that self opinionated about themselves,us norverners can’t get our heads that far up our own ar*es to be equal…………..

                Rant over……

I’d contacted someone who had helped out Les Webber with some gear previously, straight after the first time Beastmaster posted.

Then before I had the chance to pass on the info to BM he started slagging TF off so I told the bloke to forget it and to save his goodwill for another time..

Just a bit of advice on running kids matches and looking for sponsers etc I have a series running at the moment with my club (stanhope A.S)I have got sponsership from both my local tackle shops-invicta angling and ashford tackle and both were happy to provide prizes for the 6 matches we have this year. The kids know where the prizes come from and hopefully in years to come will know where to spend there money!
Also as an exiled northerner have found the southerners very friendly.
