The north east division of The National Federation of Sea Anglers is holding a Junior Open Shore Competition on Sunday 27th July 2008 in conjunction with National Fishing Week.
Entrants must be under sixteen years of age on the day of the competition and entry is just £3.
Competitors may fish either side of the River Tyne only with no rock or beach fishing permitted. Anglers should register at the Ouseburn Regeneration Centre from 7.30am on the day of the event with fishing 9am to 1pm and the weigh in closing at 2pm prompt.
Competitors may receive assistance in casting and baiting up but must land their own fish.
