As part of the ever expanding Global competition, 5 minute TV highlights will be shown once a day during the event for everybody to see the action as it unfolds.

The World Carp Classic will be run in France from 30th August to 5th September. There are 24 countries represented by 260 anglers competing for a share of the £70,000 prize table.

In the competition last year, held at the same lake, 94 carp were caught with an average weight of over 30lbs. Included in this were 3 carp over 50lbs and 14 over 40lbs. The title sponsors of the competition are JRC who are part of the Pure Fishing group.

On site during the competition there will be over £1.5M of angling equipment and £150,000 worth of bait will be used during competition. A huge opening ceremony will be held on 30th August at which the all important peg draw will take place on stage in front the World’s angling media and onlookers. Naturally there will be a big party to launch the competition so you will be able see some of the World’s greatest carp anglers relax before the serious matter commences the next day.

You will be able to see the massive logistics involved in getting tons of angling equipment to locations on the 25kms of bank space being used, including the 2 islands, and of course you will see some of the many Madine monsters.

The World Carp Classic was established in 1998 by founder Ross Honey and has been held annually ever since.
