I have had nearly 20 years good use out of my Tricast Senator extender rod but today I slipped while taking it up the bank to thread the line through and completely trashed it.I am looking at getting one of the Tri Axial rods or maybe one of the John Allerton rods to replace it.Has anyone used one of these or can you reccommend any other make of longer type of rod for waggler and stick float work.Any advice much appreciated

I use a Drennan Matchpro Ultralight 14ft for all my river float work, both stick and waggler, and it’s superb. I’ve had everything from gudgeon to 9lb barbel on it. Slim, light, well balanced with a crisp action on the strike and a soft tip that cushions light hooklengths and small hooks perfectly. Enough power down the blank when needed without being over powerful. Well worth the money.

Ive got a 12 foot tri-cast float rod its at least 20 years old, the model that was very similar to the old Dave Thomas rod. used to use it for stick work on the Dane its still like new. Also got the original Hardy carbon match 12 foot, re-eyed, the model with the fine tip,
Selling both together for £50 ifyou want them.
