TF_craigmJust thought i’d tell you all about a pole repairer i used recently, he did a top quality job for a fraction of the cost of others i have used and turned it round in 2 days, the no7 section fits inside the no8 perfectly and i have been using it for the last month with no problems. He is based in Farnworth, Bolton.

TF_nitroThe trouble with esselle is he has a 16 day turn around time at the moment. This means i cant send my pole off for repair, as i use it at least every 7 days, so ive just had to tape it up and make do with it. Of course you could pay for the express service, but this then works out at £60 including delivery to/from, so if this guy can do them for £15 in 2 days theres something to be said for it…

TF_craigmExactly Nitro, I had a section repaired by Scott earlier in the year and paid for the express service so it would be back for an important match on the sunday and it still arrived the day after on the monday. I’m not saying it was Scotts fault as the courier collected it from him on the thursday.

TF_esselleand there was me thinkong that we had to pay to advertise on this site Geepster!
As with food establishments fast and cheap is not always best quality!
Criagm ….I hope he thanks you for advertising the fact that he is also breaching copyright against Preston Innovations for doing Pulla Wraps
And hopefully Ricky teale or one of his merry men will be reading this and come down as hard on him as they have on me.
To Rob and others thankyou for your loyalty you will be rewarded.
At Esselle Pole Repairs we have spent the last 6 years in pursuit of the best repair we can provide. In doing so we have tried every way possible to make the repairs cheaper but it simply isn’t possible without compromising quality. For example on a big section we could ‘get away’ with one less layer of cloth….but then we would have to honour our LIFETIME guarantee …which we haven’t had to do yet in 6 years!
We could buy cheaper cloth but having experimented for all these years and tried over 20 different cloths we beleive the one we currently use is the best we can buy. The fact it is also the most expensive is no coincidence.
So boys and girls the choice is yours McDonalds or Gordon Ramsays. -

TF_esselleok thought so…..
after a little searching I have found these repairs on the net ……we tried that cloth once! and I am honestly still trying to give it away.
Add to that the price quoted in writing is £18 for the repair plus £15 delivery = £33
Compared to ours at £25 for the repair and £10 delivery. -

AnonymousThe thing with Scott is he is like the local Mechanic you trust who looks after your car. Its a confidence thing & when you speak to Scott you know that very expensive item which many pay 2k and more for is in safe hands. May not be the cheapest – but if we want cheap we would pay no more than £200 for a pole?
For the past 4 years i have sent my Preston CM80 pole to Scott for a refurb ( wraps around joints, etc ) and although this pole is 7 years old it is in mint condition. He also made me a purpose built No. 4 for this pole.
Personally i would not use anyone else.

TF_bagging machineParticipantESSELLE POLE REPAIRS First class service from Scott every time, Had my Butt sections completely wrapped end to end on 14.5 & 16m sections now bullet proof, also had short number 4 made to my requirements and should i change pole in the future I would have another special number 4 made so I could carry on using my top kits with the new pole.
Keep up the excellent work Scott. -

Blaggers.ParticipantWhat are you doing with them David!?!?!
We have sent what must be hundreds of sections to Scott, and not a single one has been returned to my knowledge.
We put the reputation of our business in Scott’s hands and do so with absolute confidence.

TF_craigmI posted this thread with the intention of informing people that i had a pole section repaired quickly and cheaply, and that i thought the job had been well done. Not to have a dig at Scott. Scott has repaired 2 or 3 sections for me in the past and i have put on many threads what a good job he has done. So too have North West, and CCR.I think people should be told of a cheaper alternative as for some cash is tight at the moment. I don’t think there is any need for people to slag off the blokes repairs until they have seen them for themselves. I thought the site was for asking questions, passing on information and general fishing chat. Seems its turning into a mutual appreciation society. lol

TF_D.W.May as well add something to this…
Scott, can I pick that rod up sometime this week that you repaired (either me or Rachel will pick it up)? I promise I won’t mention balloons either :o) lol
Seriously though, I have taken Scott numerous sections and rod sections to be repaired and every single time without fail they have been done in a much faster time than I expected even when Scott has been rushed off his feet. Every repair has been spot on as well and not given out even after serious usage over a prolonged period of time.
