Hoping for a Sat. and Sun. dabble. Road lake on Sat. + Snake lake on Sun. both at Puddledock, Upminster. Fished Road lake on Wed. through holes in 2″ thick ice (thanks to owners Steve + Graham). Winner had 32 pristine Roach for 18lb 8oz = was he pleased? you bet I was. Again thanks to the owners their pumps look like they will have won the battle against the ice on the Snake Lake – already 50 hopefulls booked in for Sunday.

How is Puddledock ? I used to fish with Steve Mold and Graham Skinner years ago when they fished a few Leatherhead DAS matches. – hope they are both well.

Pikey – Puddledock Snake is like most other waters in winter – very patchy with 3 or 4 hot areas in the 100 pegs. Lots of foulhooked fish, winning weights between 50 and 100lb but blanks also a possibility. Road Lake a much better prospect – lots of roach and skimmers also carp which will generally win the matches (Didnt feed on wed.) Steve + Graham are fine – they have had their fair share of problems at the Puddle but its becoming a good fishery outside the winter season.

Was suposed to be fishing a doubles match on Saturday but everywhere still frozen. Thought about going on the river on Sunday but now with heavy rain forcast all day tomorrow that’ll be out of the question.

Looks like more jobs around the house for me. God I’m pi55ed off

I have the lovely gloucester canal to look forward to with all that salty snow water going in it should fish its head off not lol

Sat – off to Broadlands then Sun Viaduct for the start of the winter league. should be a quality w/end and no ice in sight
