        Loads of 50lb + backups aswell~clap.

        Neil does not break the ice at Heronbrook.

        It makes you wonder what harm and effects it can have on a fishery when you are allowed to ice break ~think.

          tunnel barn fished similarly well and they broke ice all through the cold spell

            You hear so many different stories on the ice break theory – Truth is I don’t think the commercial fisheries have ever experienced this kind of cold snap before and the effects on the fisheries are unknown – Maybe we will all find out this coming spring ???

              But when you have some one like Dr Bruno Broughton (the country’s top fishery bod) advising breaking the ice you should take notice. He may not have absolute proof from experience but he has the knowledge to make the call.

                Yes he is obviously well respected, I haven’t seen his comments anywhere – Did he warn of the consequences of not breaking the ice?
