I have not used either pole, but I think the amount of Tournament Pros that are seen on the bank in comparison to the Whisker is quite telling. A lot of anglers have obviously decided that it is. I always try to view fishing tackle as a tool and ask if whatever I am buying is up to the job I want it for. Currently in terms of strength I would be very surprised if there are many poles on the market that are not capable of coping with the demands of UK match fishing.

As a matter of interest have you had any quotes on the old tourney pro i know one shop was offering the 16m at £1799 but i am after a 13 meter package realy.

The difference is likely to be at longer lengths. At 13m I’d suggest there’s not much in it but at say 16m the Pro will be alot better. I have not held either but that is usually the case; the more expensive, the better they perform at length.

i have had an all terrain for a while, never let me down very strong,have put it up against torny and compared the 2. at 13m almost the same ,torny bit better at 14.5m,at 16m the torny was alot better .hope this helps

T-Pro would be the stiffest

the all terrain has a different taper and I’d expect it to be more whippy a full length because of this.

Diawa do 13m packages for the pro and airity – they are for the maniland European market I think and come with 2 top 5 kits, so v good if you fish deep lakes or rivers or want a spare pole.

The TP is comfortably the better pole of the 2 btw and is worth the extra money if you can afford.

I have owned both these pole, upto 13 meters you would’nt notice a huge difference. But a 16 meters the tourny pro is much stiffer and responsive on the stike. The main problem with the all terrain was the tip bounce at full lenth in breezy conditions.

As to strenth the ATW is the strongest, even though i have landed big carp on both pole, you could lean into the fish abit more with the whisker.
