can someone advice me on this

threw the summer last year we run a number of kids fishing matches on sunday morning.?

1.dose a parent have to be with the child.

        2. do we have to be crb checked.

some one tonight has told us we need a crb check to run fishing matches for kids now.

your in put would be welcome has we don,t know where we stand has this was done to help the kids and keep them out of trouble.

Our club has been trying to find out similar info, i think that the person/people organising the matches have to be CRB checked and registered or whatever it is! But its only if there is an adult organising something that kids are attending without their adults there i believe, all a lot of mucking about really!

our club went through this last year, i think the guy who runs them has to be crb checked and also has to be qualified
he went on a coaching coarse anyway so im presuming thats the case…

Think you need to check with your local Council as they all have slightly different policies. At present I am not aware of any legal requirement but there may be local regulations that you need to follow. We were set up as a junior club originally but have not been required to be CRB checked as such although I am as a serving teacher within the authority and another member is who does not attend the matches we run. The CRB check is soon to be superceded by a new measure that hopefully will only require the “employing body” to request an update on a members status so you will not need a CRB for each organisation.
