For the 1st time in 2010 the canal was looking in a decent condition, in previous weeks we have had to contend with a flooded canal, excessive colour and also ice. So to find the colour dropping out everyone was expecting a reasonable match and also a chance of some of the large perch that are so famous but also so elusive on the foss recently and with the added bonus that Odder stretch was also being used for the first time this season, it was set for an interesting day. It was as most were expecting Odder was the place to be and this stretch produced the top 4 as many of the big perch present on this stretch decided to have a chomp. The winner on the day was SPRO Lincoln Whisby man John Turner who had 4 perch to 2½lb on lobworm plus 4lb of roach on punch which also included a 1lb specimen from 47 peg (1st peg out of the turning bay) for 10lb 4oz. In 2nd place was the man of the moment Phil Turner (Whisby A) who drew 59 the end peg at odder, his 8lb 10oz catch was taken mostly on bloodworm over joker, although Phil was struggling for a bite on chopped worm he did manage to snare a 2lb perch on his bloodworm line which was a real bonus.

1st John Turner SPRO Lincoln Whisby Peg 47 Odder (one off turning bay) 10lb 4oz 4 perch on worm to 2½lb plus 4lb of roach on punch
