        match fishing is getting more expensive and in the current recession does anyone know of affordable opens around the chester area ??????????????

          Im in the same opinion that matches are getting too expensive, 25 quid in pools every match is a lot when your trying a new venue or new to the open match scene. With bait and petrol on top it’s very costly. So are match anglers greedy when it comes to the amount of winnings people want? I would be happy to get my money back from a days fishing or be a couple of quid up if I was lucky enough to win

            if your looking for affordable opens i would maybee try canals or rivers as it is normally the peg fees that can bump up the fees. some river matches by me in stourport (worcestershire) are on 10 quid.
