  Ive been venturing out most weekends now through out this winter…
  the ice hasnt bothered me i even made myself a ice breaker…
  ive even managed to catch a few fish…
  now this weekend is a once a year outing i do with my brother, open weekend on stocks res, on a boat fly fishing..
  all booked in advance months ago….
  
  guess what….
  cancelled due to being froze over
  
  totally gutted….

  Smed, i have an open weekend with no winter leagues or pairs matches. I have decided that im going to have a pleasure day on Holbar 2 at Partridge tomorrow for something different. Its stuffed with carp between 7lb-15lb+ and a few smaller carp and F1s. Its fishing its nuts off from what i have seen an what i have been told. Could be a good day out!

  managed to squeeze in at pennine trout fishery, not been for a few years so really looking forward to it now 🙂

  How did you get on TrueBlue…been thinking about fishing Holbar but was told it’s hard to get through the Chublets….

  There are no chublets in holbar 2. Unless they have been stocked over the last few months. Holba 2 is stuffed with bloody big carp and a few smaller carp and F1s. Holbar 1 has all the chublets in it as fare as i am aware but i have not fished that lake. I never got out on Sunday as we had several inches of snow on Saturday night and the roads where very iffy to say the least.

  Cheers TrueBlue, i’m going to give it a go on Saturday…just spoke with a mate and he has said that Holbar 2 has been hit and miss but Holbar 1 is fishing well….it is difficult to get through the chub but they are still getting a few decent carp thrown in as well…i’ll post how i get on.
