        SPRO Saturday League Round 8

        38 Fished

After overnight lows of minus 4 we were expecting ice all over the canal, but to our surprise this wasn’t the case and the whole length was ice free and the colour was looking near perfect. Todays winner Ian Snowden (SPRO Lincoln Whisby) had an enjoyable day from peg 38 outside the pike house, catching roach and perch steadily all day on bloodworm over joker. His 6lb6½oz was just enough to fend off inform Phil Turner’s (Worksop) 6lb5oz bloodworm catch from peg 25. In 3rd place was Alan Houlton (Garbolino Harrisons Lincs County) on peg 34 who snared some better perch on lob worm for his 4lb9½oz catch. With one round left to go there are a number of anglers who could take the honours in the league this year, Mark Griggs (Garbolino Harrisons Lincs County) is leading the way with 46 points closely followed by last years winner Chris Jenkinson (Van Den Eynde) and Lee Kerry (Preston/Maver Barnsley) both on 45 points. On the pairs front today’s winners were John Turner (SPRO Lincoln Whisby) and Steve Winters (Garbolino Harrisons Lincs County) with 7lb15oz. Pair’s league leaders are Chris Jenkinson (Van Den Eynde) and Alan Henry (SPRO) with 42 points.

4th Lee Kerry (Preston/Maver Barnsley) Peg 13 4lb2oz Perch to 10oz on lobworm plus roach to bloodworm
5th John Turner (SPRO Lincoln Whisby) Peg 10 4lb1oz Perch to 10oz on lobworm plus roach to bloodworm
6th Tom Scholey (SPRO Lincoln Whisby/Pole Fishing) Peg 30 4lb½oz Roach & Perch to bloodworm over joker

        Rilmac Final Round

        50 Fished

Again the temperatures drop below zero overnight but to our surprise at the draw the clouds decided to drop 4â€
