        Wednesdayb 2010 open

Severe frost of –4.5 deg overnight and Icy Fog at the beginning of the day, produced frozen lakes yet again, we managed to get some free pegs for the match which tried to freeze back over whilst anglers were fishing! The sun broke through the fog at 2pm, ambient temp –1 at start till 2 pm when it changed to 2 deg (warmth eh!), wind calm, barometer 995.1 mb (low), moon phase waxing crescent, water temp 1.1, PH 8.75, DO9.55, mv 51
Anglers had max 11 metres out by 1 to 2 meters wide all rest was Ice, so pole was the order of the day.

        1st Neil Brown 32lb 8oz peg 15 all silvers
        2nd John Foster 14lb 12oz peg 1
        3rd Ted Hudson 12lb 7oz peg 29
        4th Ricky Bennett 12lb peg 22
        5th Alan Mc Guire 10lb 4oz peg 11
        6th Ray Wallace 8lb 4oz peg 25

Neil used small angel pellets and 4mm hook pellet on a 18 hook, great weight for very poor conditions.

A week of exceptional changes in weather again, producing water temperature changes from highs of 2.9 down to lows of 1.1 deg, and ambient temperatures from 6 deg down to –9 deg.

This has produced mixed results for anglers with Neil Brown on Wednesdays match catching 32lb 8oz of silvers on peg 15 Lookout, on a frozen lake, with individual pleasure anglers trying out different methods to catch and pole at 11 meters being the most successful this week with pellet, maggot and corn, when free water allows tip worked well with pellet tight to far bank about 1 foot down the bank.

Lookout has seen some good silver bags and carp starting to be caught, though frozen lake most of week
Bowes pegs 19 and 20 produced carp well whilst some silvers were caught however frozen most of the week.

Bassetts is on rest till March after the new stocking.
