Janson (Notts) Individual Winter League

The final winter league match had several anglers fighting for low points to give them the league title, but it was a jubilant Gerry Woodcock (Gerrys of Nottingham) who by taking second in his section, finally took the crown.
Gerry fished mainly across to the sedges but on occassions alternated this with the track, fishing maggot on the hook & feeding pellet & hemp.
Paul Dexter, again second in his section, also took second in the league, being equal on points with Gerry, but with overall weights being used as the decider, he just lost out on the gold.
Gerry took 222lb 7oz over the four counted matches, with Paul taking 174lb 3oz.
On the overall weights chart Gerry was also clearly the league champion, with second, Scott Robinson (Matchman Bulwell) being over 30lb behind on 190lb 8oz.
Steve Baker (New Inn AC)won the match overall, with 55lb 1oz, again fishing maggot across to the sedges with intermittent periods into the cut outs. Second in the match, Ian Coates (Matchman Bulwell) fished bread, again over to the overhanging sedges to take 50lb 11oz. Third in the match went to Will Sweeney (New Inn AC), who took 39lb 7oz to the scales from peg 14.
