i’ve always been an advocate of the bait brolly good waterproofs no umbrella.
however after fishing last friday in heavy rain/cold and then being ill all weekend because of it i thought maybe i’ll get a proper brolly just for the winter.
so today i went to the tackle shop and looked at 3.
        1. daiwa deluxe team ( bag fell apart as i took the brolly out and sewing quality was terrible £54.99 )
        2. preston fibreglass flatback ( had 4 holes in it out of the bag £60.00 )
        3. waterline thing ( weighed as much as a small church so did’nt even bother opening it or ask how much )

so the question is shall my quest continue?
or should i have a can of man-up and forget it?

Try the Waterline fibrelite flatback. I don’t know what Waterline brolly you looked at but my one is fairly!! light and the build quality is first rate. The only other brolly I rate is the Faps Supashield which sell on ebay for a reasonable £24.99 ex postage,

No is the answer to the question. All the brollies are basically the same structurally IMO. I would suggest you buy a cheap one for less than £20 for the following reasons.
              They are heavy to carry.
You will only use it when you have to.
In strong winds it will get damaged or broken.

Buy cheap and throw it away when its had a battering and buy another.
If you pay a lot, the same three basic rules apply, its just heavier to carry and more likely to get damaged as it will probably be bigger. As you paid a lot for it you will be reluctant to bin it.

Have to agree with John, it’s a waste of time forking out for an expensive one. If anything i find the cheapo brollies last alot longer than the expensive ones!
