AnonymousHi,I fish for one of the Browning teams although at the moment i haven’t got one of these poles. However, the captain of the squad has got the new Z9 and he states without a doubt that its the best Browning pole that he has ever used.He used to have a CC 910 and in his own words said that the CC 910 is incomparible to the Z9 as the Z9 knocks spots off the CC 910.
I shall be having a waggle with his Z9 shortly and will report back on here with my opinion & view of it and i will be as honest as i can be with out being biased. -

TF_craigmDon’t think the Daiwa top kits will fit, but i do know that Sensas and Maver ones do fit.

TF_paulDWent back today to try and have a deal and hed sold it! full price was 2500 but I was going to start at 2300. He says it will be another 3 weeks for the next delivery. He tried to flog me the new Tourne pro, I will probabaly get hate mail over this but I tried it and IMO its as not even close to the z9 ~naughty and you get nowhere near as much kit for your dosh. Phoned fishermens friend and wickford and they have got one but onlt the 16m package.
It might have done me a favour as ive got other things i should really be spending my money on at the mo. Could be grounds for divorce. The Z9 is the same as my z7 and my Maver 401 kits fitted perfectley, and my mates Sensas 74 kits also go on, the sensas 4 and 5 do to. I got rid of my maver kits though cos the browning ones are much better and are incedibly light.
Got another 3 weeks to think about it now! -

pigslayerwish this package was available a month ago, before i spent 2k on z9 with spare no4 and short 4.intend to buy 1.5m extension, which will make my purchase more than the new package with less gear.

TF_fourcanalsGot my z9 this week The guy from fishing republic said that it was one of two left in the country and he has the other for sale.craigm said try the z7 no 4 to me it seems the same and I will get a couple of spares.i do think coming with 10 top kits and no spare no 4s is a bit unfortunate but what a pole I will stand a further few quid to build a package i want Got to work this weekend so i will have to wait till wednesday for a fix. PS craigm I did the B!!!!!!D as our previous conversation

pigslayerafter previously using a g10 i can honestly say that the z9 is up there with the best, although like all top end poles there is compromise, its not as strong as the g10 but defo lighter, which is what i wanted, the finish is the best iv ever used and a joy to use,and now theres this 18m package for around £2250 which imo makes the z9 untouchable.but surely this deal should have been available from the start, the 1.5m extension is over £300,the no4s are £150,i think browning uk have taken the p**s a little.

TF_paulDPigkiller – the 2 no4s you get wit the pro pack are power 4ths. they are the same as on my Z7 so only about 50 quid. ive compared them to the z9 4s and they dont seem any heavier but they have not got the nice wrap on the joints. there supposed to be a bit stronger so for summer bagging – remember that? my dealer said that the Z9 4s are about £100 but the 5 is only about 30 more.
Ive just orderd a z9 pro pack. i had a go of one and caught a few fish on one at the weekend. ive been told that i’ll get it in 3 weeks. -

TF_Two-netsWickford haven’t got one anymore – I have just bought it ~clap
It is a really good pole, it’s not the most expensive pole I have had but it’s easily the best, I’m still amazed at the stiffness and lightness at 13m, not too much different for 14.5m too.
Does anybody know the origins of these poles? I was told at the weekend by a Browning sponsored angler, that also has design input, that they are Reglass poles. Well mine has a lot of similarities with my Map TKS50 – the top kits all fit and the cupping kit and holdall look the same too.

TF_youngyDont reglass make Maver poles?…is this just a Maver pole repackaged?.

TF_clfletchReglass make lots of poles for all sorts of brands. It doesn’t mean that any of them are the same.

TF_XitanI’ve had some involvement with the Browning Xitan poles and can assure you that they’re not made be Reglass. They’re very different in construction to Maver poles.
The topkits are 22mm which is becoming a very common size now. Bigger diamter sections make the pole stiffer but 22mm is about as big as you can go on the 3 to 4 joint without making the 5 & 6 horribly thick. The Diawa SR poles are also 22mm and I reckon that their top-end poles will also go 22mm in the future. Like me, poles are getting fatter and fatter.
A lot of effort went into getting the Z7 & Z9 “just-right” – kits, finish, joints etc. It wasn’t just a case of taking what was offered and painting it in brand colours. It’s nice to see the positive comments and I’m sure that nobody is going to be disappointed if they buy one.
The Z9’s is so good it’ll soon be LOADSA-NETS or “the angler formerly known as two-nets”

pigslayeri spoke to a daiwa backed angler yesterday who told me their poles are made in turkey and now come with free chilli sauce.lol

TF_Two-netsI used mine in anger for the first time yesterday for a 4th place beaten by 8 drammes for 3rd and was very impressed with the pole – the finish is really first class and the joints are very smooth in use too.
Anybody thinking of buying a pole in the upper price bracket would be well advised to look at the Z9. -

TF_p2hl_p2hlwho makes the Z9…
look at the way the joints are made and compare to ie: The Sensas 784…might be a good clue
and yes it is a very nice pole, personally i like the reglass poles better, but i think the Z9 is the best top of the range pole for the money out there, if you do not have any affiliations with particular make…

TF_Xitan“lump” …. 22mm is the diameter of the male end of the no. 4 section – what the topkit fits onto.
The Sensas 7 series, Maver Competition “M” series, Diawa SR, some Trabbuco are 22mm so topkits will interchange. Will also be able to use the new Z9 Pulla kits on these poles.
The poles usually change from about the 5th onwards.
It’s a shame that we can’t make them in the UK anymore. I know Tricast mangage it, and Diawa for the very top-end, but I wonder for how much longer ?
