Report:
Dynamite Baits Makins Crater failed to respond in the bitterly cold East wind for the Thursday Kobra Open, and only 3 competitors landed carp.

Long Eaton Victoria AS’s Dave Kent (peg 14) landed 5 carp on corn from his left margin and a single ‘skimmer’ for 17 lb 12 oz and a clear win to reverse the previous week’s result by pushing Preston backed Andy Findlay (peg 1) into second. Andy’s single carp and a few roach weighed 8 lb 10 oz.

Shaun Claire (Dynamite Matchman Supplies) on peg 4 also landed a carp for his 6 lb 2 oz third place.

Thursday match on 11 March will be on Phase 3.

Report:
The highlight from the Wednesday Kobra Open (fished on Lake 2 at Dynamite Baits Makins) was a 51 lb 14 oz bream bag for second place.

Clear winner (peg A20) was Lane’s Bait and Tackle star Wayne SHARMAN with 78 lb 12 oz consisting of 10 carp (including 5 ‘doubles’), all falling to corn presented on straight bomb. Photograph of Wayne with his 5 biggest fish attached.

In contrast, Coventry’s Eddie Keene (peg B16) started on a small feeder and caught nothing in two hours. He switched to waggler fished at around 18m with dead maggot on the hook (over maggot loose feed) and caught bream (mainly 2 lb plus size) and a single perch to take second slot with 51 lb 14 oz.

Third place fell to Hinckley’s Albert Bray (peg A12) with 4 carp for 23 lb 2 oz, all falling to bread.
