i need a float for fishing a venue around 12ft
deep and subject to windy conditions and tow, been looking on malmans and ackoos sites
but they seem to be only for commies around 6ft
should i be looking for around a gramme?

        anyone got any good recommendations?

oh and its for mainly skimmers…

Drennan quad, wire stem will help with stability.

This is what you are looking for, I designed these for the type of venue you are fishing, the 1g will be fine in 12ft of water.

I use Maver Black Ice Polar on larford speci lake, depths there from about 8ft to 12ft. I use them in sizes from 1g to 2g most of the time. Just give them an extra coat of nail varnish and they’re spot on.

I fish for skimmers in a water 12/13′ deep and use a 1.5gr Preston Classic 13, fished with a double bulk. Perfect!!!

Rive 44, Steve Ringers favorite for deep venues such as Meadowlands on the roadside depths there 10-15ft.

Garbo DC4 in 1G would work fine, good alround float

Drennan Carbo will take some beating in deep water and are usually available in tackle shops.

                                    thx for all the replys
i did like the look of those floats nick and will probs buy a few at a later date, i had a quick try out with some preston classics johnny in a 1g size, not sure of the number of them off the top of my head but they had a wire stem and a cane bristle, very sensitive good float for skimmers but if they was a fault it was that the bristle was a little too fine and i was struggling to see it when the wind got up…even when i blacked it out with a marker, so ive give them a lick of black paint to thicken the tips up a bit and now i reckon they will be good at 13m…
i also bought a few of these drennan garbos today and a few drennan quads cos the weather does change a lot on this particular water and there are a lot of pegs that have “white water” ie no shadows of trees etc and the idea of 4 colour tips sounds good…
will let you know how these perform, one thing i have noticed is i have been using whaaaay to light a float b4!!! and a wire stem in 1g for 10ft of water seems to be very stable!!

                                    thx for all the replys!!
