        while fishing today i noticed a 1 inch split in the male end of my number 8 off my g8
        can i forget about it as its in the male end or could i sand it or cut it out

          I would just rub some Araldite into the split from both sides and build it up slightly, then let it go off and sand it back down and it should be ok.

            As a minimum I’d get some superglue into it.
