Can anyone tell me the best method for changing hooklengths quickly when fishing the lead, I’ve tried quick change beads but suffer too much line twist, I’ve had a bit of success with a clip swivel but they are quite large and I can’t help thinking that I’d catch more fish if I had a neater alternative.

Guru micro lead clip system, but instead of the swivels provided, use a Guru size 11 snap link swivel

Size 8 is the smallest, I use 6’s for my Barbel fishing.

I use the Cralosso side-line rolling swivel in size 6 all the time
I use size 8 on my pole rigs sometimes for the 360 degree rig

I use these Fox ones, but cut the tube down to 10mm, which is a lot neater.

Cralosso side-line rolling swivel £1.99 for 6 a little expensive for my liking.

Ive been using the cralusso ones for a while and they are perfect, i was getting to many spin ups and the rubber part of the korum beads kept spliting.

I tend to use a Drennan Swivel Bead (small – size 11) and replace the swivel with a size 11 Korum Snap Swivel. It works a treat and allows you to change hooklengths quickly and you don’t suffer from line twists.

I use the korum quick change beads but not the bead part which I find difficult to get off when it is cold and fingers are frozen. I just use a piece of silicon instead.

Surely the spinning up of hook lengths is due to the a combination of things.
                                      low diameter line.
                                      non streamlined hook baits
                                      speed of retrieve.

If you are more careful with these things then you will not be troubled with hook lengths spinning up. Oh and if you make sure that every cast results in a fish then you will never suffer from the problem ~shh
