weekend just gone, seen me do somethink ive not done before, and that was to use a inline olly(0.8) on a 1gr float with a few shot on the bottom of the olly and a couple of dropper shot to suit…i must note i DID NOT put any shot above the olly so it was free running. when before ive normally locked the olly in place.

now im not sure if locking the olly is the only correct way of using olly’s, or if just putting shot on the bottom is another way of using them…..

        any thoughts on this

i just missed out on winning the match, so catch fishing wasnt a problem.

my thinking behind this was to have enough weight to get the hook down in the catching zone, and help with presentation in the wind and tow, but having less resistance for the fish to feel……yet again im not sure if this works out true….
