hi, im looking for a tip rod as mine has somehow gone missing?? (dont ask!)
not bought one for ages and they seems to be an endless amount of them all different lengths and makes etc….
i dont really fish any big res`s and the farest cast i would be doing is approx 50yrds? like 2 cricket pitches if that…in summer i generally fish the method feeder (15g) ones, and in winter i will fish say a 15g maggot feeder or 1 oz lead…
i sometimes use braid if im maybe fishing for silvers so that has to be taken into consideration…

for these distances what length of rod should i be looking at?
is there any particular action i should be looking at also (dont wanna be losing fish on the method at the net which i did with my old one!)
also i dont like using braid with rods that have really tiny eyes….

and has anyone any suggestions? and seeing as im not gonna be using it like every week i dont wanna spend a fortune!!!

sry for drabbing on a bit….

I would say the Shimano Beastmaster Commercial 9’/11′ – a cracking piece of kit for around the £80 mark.

get yourself a maver powerlite feeder system you get a total of 2 rods at two different lengths. you can set up 2 but you get 3 butt sections so you can choose from 11, 12 or 13 foot rod. your get 6 tips i use mine at larford for skimmers chucking 30yards and big carp chucking 50 to 70 yards no worries

Works at 11′ with small/medium feeders for me and won a few matches using it. Personal preference I guess.
