TF_OneTrickJust a cautionary tale – anyone thinking of buying the Space Station Compact hoping it will fit the shuttle BEWARE …….. It doesn’t. You have to use the attachment designed for use with non-preston boxes – Genius eh!

TF_squattThat’s what I like about Preston, it’s not as though they would sell reels that don’t even fit their rods~clap

Surely people should be able to voice there opinions on tackle they don’t rate or they think is faulty. If they didn’t people would then moan that they weren’t warn about it.

TF_piperpilotI have and have had loads of Preston gear and most of it ISN’T Cr*p. ALL tackle manufacturers have various poorly designed items and any problems I’ve encountered with Preston products have been sorted by them almost immediately. Absolutely NO tackle companies products are immune from faults or poor design and from some I’ve had major problems with so called customer service operatives with little or worse no knowledge or interest in the products they sell,

AnonymousThanks for pointing that out, One Trick. As you know. Im looking to get a new box and the Preston SpaceStation compact was one of those that was under consideration. Think i can tick that one off my list of possibilities now.

Anonymousthey have some of the best hooks on the market pr 27,28 and 36 the have a very good pole support and barrow and plenty of other things too, I wouldn’t fancy their boxes I have heard to much bad stuff about them but in general their tackle is pretty good.

TF_dirkdiggleri think also it comes down to whether your a cups half full or half empty sort of person too.
for instance i’ve had a space station for three years and really rate it.
however due to the appalling winter we’ve experienced oop north i’m now in a small 4×4 vehicle so i’m on the hunt for a smaller box.
i’ve had a look at the compact space station and really liked it however the one in the shop was already broken.
now a positive person would think mmm i’ll have one anyway and watch out for that weak point.
a negative person would dismiss the compact as rubbish and move on even though they have no idea whether it was some hamfisted shop employee or customer who had bounced on it.
unfortunately that person then usually goes on to tell all his mates how rubbish the box is too without ever owning one.
admittedly preston do some things that make me scratch my head occasionally but for the most part their products and customer service is fine.
if the salesman who sold you the box did’nt tell you it would’nt fit your space shuttle shame on him.
if he was more positive he could have sold you the attachment too

TF_p2hl_p2hlI am sorry I am a bit thick at the best of days,,, so I need your help understanding this one…
Is the problem here that Preston sells a space shuttle barrow, and that barrow is delivered with two attachments, one fits the old space station and the other fits the new space station compact…
If so it seems to me you have all you need… or am I missing something? -

TF_OneTrickThanks for the support chaps. I have bought loads of Preston gear over the last 12 months and i’m actually impressed with 99% of it so this post wasn’t intended as a knock. As Mr Foxman posted – simply letting people know.
Like many others I value the opinions of members to the forum and when considering new gear, others experiences etc definately play a part in my decision making.

Shark TeethSo, in summary, we have a Preston Seatbox that fits the Preston barrow, using one of the two supplied attachments.
And the problem?
