            question/comment

did not van den eynde do a fibrous self-mix paste some years ago?

i seem to recall that you poured the contents of the packet into a bowl and added the exact amount of water as measured from using the packaging it came in.

i only tried it once in the strawberry flavour and was not very successful although it did stay on the hook throughout.

Saw some of this stuff in the ready made form in a tub the other day in local tackle shop..The only thing i can see this stuff being any good for use with is a waggler or feeder rod..It is as it says, very fibrous and will stick to a hook like sh#te to blanket..Cant see it being any good for normal paste fishing on the pole as its just not soft enough,be good as an alternative for your local plumber though..lol

Im not a paste angler but doesn`t a fiborous connective paste go against the ethics of paste fishing ?

Dead right Anthonywaters – tried adding wheat gluten to the paste material, plenty of fibre, stays on hook, looses the most important facet of paste – dont break down and colour the water.

Some things catch fish..others catch anglers! To be fair it will either prove itself or fail. Time will tell.

Lad next to me on Sunday was using this stuff and caught a few carp. It stayed on the hook even after striking at bites! Its main application seems to be that you can create a soft pellet at the size that you want rather than being restricted by the size of soft pellets you have with you. I would not class it as paste! Paste breaks down and builds your swim up.
