It was back to winter for today’s match with a gale force cold wind blowing down the match length, no run away winner and only 10lb separating the top 6 places, but it was Dad Norman at the top fishing the pole and bread pellet short at 7m over carp pellets landing just 7 carp – 9lb steady throughout the match edging his son Kristian into 2nd spot he fished the method feeder and corn cast to the old lily pads at peg 26 he had 17 carp – 5lb for a level 43lb.

A warm spring day with the odd down pour and the lake moved into top gear, Richard Wood drew peg 40 and had to borrow a feeder rod to fish this peg in the normal manner, fishing a small pellet method feeder and corn cast to the far bank reeds he was into carp from the off, landing carp – 4lb steady all match finishing with a creditable 48lb. 2nd place in this very close match was John Holmes fishing the pole and pellet he had a mixed net of skimmers – 2lb and carp – 3lb along with a bonus 8lb mirror on corn late in the match from down the margin.

The Method feeder is coming into its own at the moment with the pegs in the 20’s the place to draw, Brian Wood drew peg 26 fishing with a pellet method feeder with corn on the hook cast to the old lily pads he had 17 carp – 6lb to win his first match at the fishery. 2nd place went to regular framer Norman Powers he had 10 carp – 7lb 5 on the pellet method cast to the island and 5 on the pole and pellet fished long at 14m.
