In 2003 he also held the record for the crucian carp at 4lb 9oz 9dr. As well as writing his popular weekly column for the Angling Times he is the star of the stunning series Catching The Impossible, where he is filmed catching 5lb plus perch, 30lb plus pike and 40lb plus carp. But to Martin it isn’t just about the pounds and ounces he places equal value on the venues he visits. With this in mind the winner of the auction can be sure of fishing in beautiful surroundings with a man who values all that angling has to offer.

The choice can be either watching your float on a summer’s dawn, as it sinks away into the tiny bubbles left by a shoal of feeding tench in an idyllic Oxfordshire estate lake.
