right used to use paste a few years ago, i used green swim stim groundbait, mainly at makins, they loved it, but eventualy they went off it, so i turned to cat meat, i fish alot more venue’s now, so what would you say is a good all round groundbait or pellet to make a good paste, or any recipe’s? Cheers fellas.

theres so many things you can make paste out of it could be a very long post….
if the fishery uses there own pellets its probebly best to use them to make some paste, i reckon its the consistancy of the paste that you need to get right….

              Aye up Pete matey,

The paste i use is very simple…

Soaked Skretting micro pellets rubbed through a pinkie riddle and then add some Sensas green IM5 g/b and a handful of fry feed.
Keep adding water and mix until you get the right consistency (i like mine very very soft)
Its what catches me all them lumps at Meadowlands matey…lol.

I think the general rule is to make the paste from whatever is being fed. For example, if a particular fishery is responding well to meat, then make a meat paste. A basic foolproof paste consists of ground Skrettings coarse pellets and sometimes Skrettings trout pellets. The key is to grind the pellets down to a fine powder, then add water, giving the mix a bit of time to fully absorb. As has previously been said the consistency is vital in as much as it needs to suit the conditions and be manageable. The ideal consistency is something like soft mash, that with a bit of care is shippable, wont dissolve too quickly but is soft enough so that a quick strike will easily pull the hook through.
