TF_RyanHi, was wondering what hollo elastic you think is the best? as there is that many out there. preston, hydro, drennan, vespe, middy etc etc. is there any that aren’t very durable? no good at all? etc
Thanks Ryan

TF_Serious SamAnother vote for Drennan Bungee, was the first elastic I ever used. Have tried other hollows and solids since but have always come back to it as nothing else felt right.
I use for everything bar silvers in winter when I drop down to a solid 4-6.

TF_Mike Herringtonjust started using Maver Dual Core 10 -13 for up in water for carp from 4lb to 10lb..white hydro too soft and other elastics too heavy.
also use drennan pink (16-20) set soft for down the edge for fish to low doubles.
9h preston for silvers
white hydro for small carp and f1’s

TF_GavinI’ve used the Middy and Preston hollows as well as Hydro and they’re all good! Hydro does last longer but you’ll still get a few seasons out of the others too.

I was keeping the imperfect stuff to myself….. its chief considering it costs £3, a few tiny blisters on one end, I just stick that end on the bung, but SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dont tell anyone

TF_allyParticipantI am only an occasional user of hollo/stronger elastic , which is why I use hydro. I have just used some black elastic which has been in the pole for 5 years and it was as new and I landed fish to 15lb. Other hollos I have used/put in the pole, have deteriated over time, even without being used. Now I buy once and buy hydro.

TF_welshmagicThe yellow drennan bungee is superb and a great all round carping elastic
Red vespe is also great when you need to step up a notch
Wilkie orange is great for proper lads down the edge
It’s a case of finding what suits your style as you can see I use 3 different brands for different applications

TF_superg10drennan bungee for me to also use black hydro and m.a.p white hollo
also if you get the m.a.p hollo in the 10 to 12 its the same stuff as white hydro just with out the liquid in it me and a few mates have tryed it compared to white and cant tell the difference at all and its half the price

Vespe all the way.
When he was selling it Wilkie was getting his stuff from the same place as Vespe so it is the same thing I believe.

TF_allyParticipantHey Dave I supose it is a bit odd these days but I sometimes fish without even setting up a pole, and I seldom fish carp only venues and rarely target them, got bored with that about 1985.
I am working Sunday, or did you mean someday. I hear you may be joining us for winter league, you better start the deep breathing exercises and remember to count to ten.
