Hope your match fishing it as the bigger carp are few and far between, they cant get past the smaller carp!!!

Not actuall been since last sept but fished two matches over a weekend, weighed 85lb and 60lb+, mainly pellet or paste but corm can be a good change bait.

6mm pellet shallow is favourite on the dam wall area with paste as a back up IMHO. Island pegs can get away with 6m line on the bottom for big weights.

Best draws are normally on the island or far end of dam – bleedin obvious when you see the island pegs you’ll run to the three tips! Depths vary, only a couple of feet left of island, 3-6 if drawn fishing off the island, then dam wall to right of island is probably 6-7 deepest shallowing down far end to probably 3ft.

Probably need to be aiming for 60-100lb if its fishing – favourite pegs IMO would be island or far end of dam but anywhere on the dam can produce – left of island in the shallows in front of the lodges is hit and miss.

Take a pellet waggler for middle of the dam wall area otherwise its 100% pole for matches.

Top tip – replumb regular – its full of silt and the fish create hollows which is dead frustrating until you suss it!!

Mainly smaller carp and F1’s 1lb – 2lb average, bigger samples very few and far between – rare to catch much else bar odd chub and roach n rudd battering anything shallow.

          Enjoy!
