The only way I’ve caught well not on an island peg at Dents was by fishing the long pole shallow. Not fished it for a bit though!

I’ve never fished High Flyer- I do hear that 200lb+ weights are winning there now, and that they are big fish. Lots of bait and brown hydro is what I hear, how realistic that is I don’t know!

re 2 island lake if its warm then pellet wag, but there’s a lot of chub in there so caster can work too.

re high flyer, it generally only 1 or 2 than bag up, anything works there cat meat and paste are good.

High flier is a good little venue 32 pegs but best kept to around 26 for it to fish well

Probably the best way to approach it right now is kick off at 6 metres bottom of the shelf with corn or meat, feed corn like a lunatic in the margins untill you see them, once they are there if you feed it right you can keep them all day, they always show themselves its very rare that you dont see them, if you have onion grass in your margin fish that instead of the reeds,

you will need about 20 tins of corn if your on a few, paste can often work well but its not something I do there,

If its warm and sunny you will catch up in the water, with pellet but be carefull there are some stupid rules you have to hook your bait no hair rigs no superglue etc etc while fishing the float, but allowed on the lead, so a heavily jellied pellet is a good aproach or fish corn up, one of the problems is the amount of roach that intercept the bait when fishing up sometimes its just plain impossible due to them. they are 6 to 12 oz roach but the best you can do is 50 or 60 lb of them.

dont bother this time of the year with leads or method all the fish want to eat in the margins up in the water or on the 6metre line early.

you will need .19 rigs size 14 b911 seem to work well there and orange dual core laccy the margin laccy needs to be red hydro set light anything stronger and you will pull out of two many, the margin fish usually average between 8 and 12lb

One word of warning check the rules they tend to change them a lot 🙂
